Volunteer

If you are interested in joining our efforts at combating domestic violence and supporting those affected by this crime, Alternative Horizons offers a number of volunteer opportunities throughout the year.
To learn more about any of these programs and opportunities, please call our office at 970-247-4374.

Crisis Hotline: Our 24-hour hotline is staffed entirely by caring and dedicated volunteers from the community. To prepare our volunteers, AH offers periodic volunteer trainings focused on domestic violence dynamics, civil and criminal legal procedure, local resources, safety planning and counseling skills.

Our training is targeted toward volunteers who come with the desire to help others in need. As space allows, we also offer this training to community members who simply want to learn more about the dynamics of domestic abuse and its effects.

For upcoming training dates, please see "Upcoming Events" on our homepage or call our office.

Community Outreach and Education: AH is a strong presence in many of the area's middle schools, high schools, and Fort Lewis. We teach teen dating-violence prevention and bystander education classes to groups and offices. We welcome help from volunteers in teaching these classes.

Fundraising: If you would like to assist AH in our fundraising efforts, we have many opportunities for you to become involved!
