24-Hour Crisis Hotline 970-247-9619

Alternative Horizons’ crisis hotline is staffed by a group of volunteer advocates that have undergone at least 30 hours of training specific to intimate-partner abuse and local resources that assist survivors. The hotline is available to:

  • Support callers in times of crisis;

  • Provide a safe place for callers and create a safety plan specific to each caller's situation and needs;

  • Help educate friends and family about the dynamics of domestic violence;

  • Provide callers with information and referrals regarding AH services, counseling, protection orders and related proceedings, financial aid, housing, community resources and general services; and

  • Make arrangements for advocates to meet clients receiving medical attention and to assist in acquiring civil protection orders.

AH provides multiple trainings each year for community members interested in becoming volunteer advocates and those who wish to learn more about the issue of domestic violence and intimate-partner abuse.
